Vision
The vision of the Department is to undertake high level human resource development through research, training and technology transfer to ensure sustainable development of forest resources as well as the environmental and social impact on these resources.
This vision is enhanced by our mission to provide high level qualitative education and training in environmental conservation, social forestry, wood science and utilization, silviculture and forest biology, wildlife management, forest management and bio-metrics.

Mission
The mission is to enhance high level qualitative education and training in environmental conservation, social forestry, wood science and utilization, silviculture and forest biology, wildlife management, forest management and bio-metrics.



Goals and Objectives
(i) To develop programmes covering the broad areas of forestry and wildlife management.

(ii) To turn-out production oriented graduates in forestry and wildlife by making it mandatory for students to have training in various aspects of forestry and wildlife
in cognizance with our mission statement.

(iii) To train personnel capable of teaching and conducting relevant research in fore-going aspects of forestry and wildlife, and capable of generating and taking up employment anywhere, in all the sub-disciplines, of forestry and wildlife management.

(iv) To establish forest and wildlife based viable commercial enterprises to support the Department.


(v) To engage in any other relevant forestry and wildlife based activities.
